Getting started

A platform that connects you with independently licensed clinicians and with a licensed pharmacy, for weight-management care. It is not a doctor’s office and it is not a pharmacy. It is the thing that carries your information to the people who are.

Adults 18 and over who are physically located in a state where dose can arrange a review. The list of states is on the prescribers page. Some health histories mean a remote review is not appropriate. The assessment asks about them, which is why it is longer than a sign-up form.

You answer questions about your health, your history, your measurements and what you have already tried. It takes about [duration to be confirmed] and you can save it and come back. A clinician reads it, asks follow-up questions if they need to, and tells you what they think.

Treatment

Only if a clinician judges that prescription treatment is clinically appropriate for you. Many people are; some are not, and some are asked to do something else first. Paying for a review does not entitle you to a prescription. If the answer is no, the refund policy explains what happens to what you paid.

It depends what is prescribed. An FDA-approved branded medication has been reviewed and approved for a specific use. A compounded preparation is made for an individual patient by a pharmacy and is not FDA-approved. They are different things and you will be told which one you are being offered. dose itself is a platform, and a platform is not something the FDA approves.

Cost and coverage

[To be confirmed.] The cost of the clinical review and the cost of medication are separate, and both are shown before you are charged. There are no charges you have not seen. If a price changes, you are told before the change takes effect.

[To be confirmed.] Coverage for weight-management treatment varies a great deal between plans, and some plans exclude it entirely. Ask your insurer directly, using the medication name your clinician gives you. We can provide documentation for a claim.

Once you have started

[To be confirmed.] Most reviews are answered within [target to be confirmed]. A case that needs a lab result or a conversation takes longer. This is not an urgent-care service and there is no guaranteed response time. If something is urgent, do not wait for us.

Yes. You can message your clinician through the platform, and they will tell you when a live conversation would be better than a written one. Messages are not monitored around the clock.

Every medication has them, and they differ by product and by person. Your clinician will go through what to expect for what they are prescribing, and the labelling that comes with your medication is the authority on it. Tell your clinician about anything you notice, including things you are not sure are related. Serious problems can also be reported to the FDA through MedWatch.

Yes. You can cancel at any time from your account, and cancelling stops the next charge. What is refundable and what is not is set out in the refund policy, and it depends on whether a clinician has already reviewed your case.

Privacy and safety

Your assessment, your messages and your clinician’s notes are part of your medical record and are handled under the notice of privacy practices, which also sets out your rights over them. How the website itself handles data — cookies, analytics, marketing — is in the privacy policy. We do not sell your health information.

Do not use dose. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. If you are in crisis, call or text 988. This platform is not monitored around the clock and is not built for anything urgent.

Still have a question?

Write to us. If it is about your own health, the answer belongs with a clinician, and the consent to telehealth page explains how a review works before you start one.

Using this site does not create a doctor–patient relationship. This platform is not a prescriber and is not a pharmacy: prescribing decisions are made by independent licensed clinicians, and medication is dispensed by a licensed pharmacy.

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. Individual results and treatment plans vary.
